-There is a strategy to getting plaster off walls and ceilings
-hard work is always worth the effort
-my husband and I make a great team

-this is going to be so worth it

-I can’t wait to design this space

2nd floor Before(s) 👀 We bought a massive fixe

2nd floor Before(s) 👀

We bought a massive fixer upper (like total gut job and the whole nine yards).

It was built in the 1890’s and hasn’t been lived in since 2006(ish).

Needs a whole lot of TLC and we have started demo on this floor. I’ll be sharing more as time goes on but putting this here to remind myself where we started 🤍

85% of my household items will be gone by March! Is what I said. And here are a few things I learned while going through this process of decluttering my entire house:

-My children are not as attached to their toys as I thought they were

- I am more attached to things than any one else in my house

-I’m convinced if you feel like your kitchen is always in chaos you need to get rid of some of your extra dishes

-Sometimes I think we are so focused on the results we don’t realize what it will take to get there.

-Everyone’s journey with decluttering and minimizing will be different.

I actually love the month of February. Its my bir

I actually love the month of February.

Its my birthday month and I like to use it as a time to reflect. This February felt extra special because it was the 1 year anniversary of my home birth with my daughter. She has been the most content baby and I think a lot has to do with the way she’s was brought into this world. She has been this constant reminder of time. The preciousness of it and how fleeting it is.

As I look forward to this year (my last year in my 20’s) I feel so grounded in the woman I’ve become. In the mother that I am. Of course, I am imperfect and my selfishness takes over from time to time but I view it as teaching moments for myself and my children.

Being a wife is one of the greatest blessings I’ve ever received. I used to think I needed someone to “complete” me but in reality I think we need someone who compliments our strengths and challenges us with our weaknesses. And Tyler is just that. I would not be the woman I am without him.

Something I’ve really adopted over this year is savoring life. I think that will continue being a theme over the next few years.

I don’t want the busyness of this season to steal all these precious moments with the people I love. I’m craving simplicity and structure with wiggle room for life.

I truly have adopted this idea that time is my currency and I am the one who has control over how I spend it. I do not want to feel rushed or stressed or overwhelmed anymore. There is a different way.

A slower way. A peaceful way. A joyful way and a grounded way to accomplish all I hope and need to this year.
