Stairs were pushed off but turned out to be a necessity as we work on the plumbing, electrical, and insulation stages of our rebuild.

These have evolved and we actually flipped how we initially thought of installing them and I love it so much more. We will be sharing it soon but I’m happy to report the red ladder is no longer needed 🫡

This floor is where most of our time has been spent. What is not pictured is the amount of clean up required after demo but we’ve made it!

Rebuilding is in the works. This means rewiring, new plumbing, refinished and repainted floors, insulation, and drywall! It’s easy to say this is all that needs to be done but what you need to realize is that each of these have their own process. Hopefully they all go faster than demo 😂

So thankful to friends and family for helping us get to this point. It’s incredible to think that a year ago my husband was still in Wisconsin, selling our house, while I was solo parenting and living at my parents wondering what our next move was going to be.

I’m looking forward to having a closet again and to have a real kitchen to cook in. Otherwise camper living was pretty good—maybe too good! We might have gotten further a little faster if we were living in tents 😆

As we begin to shift into August the month that seems to go by so quickly, I’m reminded that the most important things in life are not things.

It’s time.

So much of the time we can be pushing forward to the next thing. The next baby, the next season, the next phase of life. While looking forward is good I think we need the reminder to stop and look around and admire where we are at and appreciate where we are coming from.

I’m actually not much of a future planner, I’m a now kind of person. This is one of Gods gifting to me to remind you to stop and appreciate where you are at, right now. Be there for a moment savor in it. It’ll be gone too quickly.

Savoring summer a little extra this year. I know I’ve talked a lot about the busyness of this season here and there but there are also moments where I’m able to truly slow down to en these moments.

Summer in Upper Michigan is such a special time. I feel so grateful to live here. If you feel like your summer is flying by I want to send you my 5 rules for a slow and savory life. When I’m intentional about these 5 things I’m a better wife, mom, and don’t feel like I’m working my life away.
