I love the fall UP air as it’ll starts cooling off

I love the fall UP air as it’ll starts cooling off + drifting into our days.

It’s always this little reminder that changes happens slowly almost without us noticing.

And I think there’s something really beautiful about the way nature changes.

The leaves one at a time switch over until the whole tree is bursting with autumn color.

I’ve been thinking about how often I’m looking ahead to what’s next.

The next phase. The next project. The next thing on the list.

And how easy it is to miss what’s happening right now because I’m already thinking about what comes after it.

Maybe that’s part of living a life less rushed.

Not necessarily having less to do, but giving myself a chance to notice the season I’m actually in.

Even while it’s changing.

I’m much more of a writing processor than a verbal

I’m much more of a writing processor than a verbal processor, and sometimes I don’t even know how I feel about something until I start putting words to it.

Writing has become one of the ways I slow down enough to notice my own life.

And it’s what inspired me to create A Life Worth Telling Journal.

It’s a digital guided journaling practice based on the way I’ve been learning to reflect on my own days.

Because I know what it’s like to want to journal but not always know where to begin.

And I don’t think we need to document every moment to savor our lives.

I think we just need to make a little more room to notice them.

I take so many pictures of my kids. But a pictur

I take so many pictures of my kids.

But a picture can remind me what something looked like without reminding me what it felt like. And that’s the part I don’t want to lose.

The funny thing they keep saying. The phase we’re in. What I’m struggling with. What feels really sweet. Who I was while all of it was happening.

I’m much more of a writing processor than a verbal one. Sometimes I don’t know what a moment meant to me until I start writing about it.

These days, when something catches me, I try to ask one question: what’s the story here?

The thoughts are already there. The stories are already happening. We just have to capture them. ✨

Lately I’ve been thinking about how often I’ve gotten to the end of the day and thought, where did today go?

Nothing huge happened.

We made breakfast. We got one kid to school. My daughter caught me watching her play. There were toys on the floor. We talked about school. I held my baby. We figured out dinner. We did bedtime.

Just an ordinary day.

But I think those are actually the days I’ll wonder the most about.

And I don’t want to get to the end of these years and only remember the big things. The birthdays and vacations and first days of school.

I want to remember what they said at the dinner table.

What our house felt like on a rainy afternoon.

What I was thinking about while I rocked my baby.

The tiny things that made up our life.

I think I’m realizing that savoring a season requires me to actually notice it while I’m in it.

I’m curious, do you ever get to the end of the day and think, where did today go?

There are moments we rush by. There are things w

There are things we make harder.

There are excuses we make.

And life keeps moving.

As Ferris Bueller says “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

And we don’t do that over here 🫶🏼
