When it comes to decking the halls for Christmas, I love choosing timeless Christmas decor pieces that will last for years to come.
One of the major goals with my Christmas decor this year was to not buy anything new and I succeeded! I have been on a journey to fix my spending habits over the past year and I have made great strides in doing so. See the full process come together over on Youtube.
When it comes to timeless decor pieces I always lean towards neutrals with a sprinkle of red for Christmas decor and it feels extremely cozy. Over the last three years, we have had a different home to decorate. It’s interesting to see how decor looks in different spaces.
Let’s start with the tree. We have had this tree for the past 5 years, funny enough we got it from a Fleet Farm and it’s a pre-lit porch tree.
I like to put the tree in a basket or a box and stuff it withe some bricks and a blanket to prevent it from falling onto the little people in my life that like to pull on it! I also prefer having handmade ornaments that are sentimental or support small makers.
Next the stocking garland is one of my favorite things to create each year. The previous year I made a faux mantle that hung off our tv.
This year we actually got rid of our tv and I hung the garland underneath the window in my dining room. It is a combination of two different garlands with a strand of twinkling lights. The stockings are attached with floral wire.
The rest of my decor pieces were slowly collected over the past 5 years. The ceramic trees where originally pink and I painted them see the full process. The candle sticks in the window were from my wedding. and the others were either clearance items or gifted.
