Looking to boost your curb appeal? Here are a few tips to help!
1. Easy to Maintain Landscape
A well maintained lawn with fresh cut grass is a welcoming site. Keeping grass trimmed shows you care about your property. Adding annual plants that bloom year after year makes it so easy to maintain. My Husband and my mother in law transplanted most of the hostas from around our house to the front garden and they are thriving!
Hostas are so easy to maintain. We added a cedar mulch as a contrast to the bright green of the hostas and I can’t wait to see what they look like later this summer. Tulips are also a great option!
2. Make It Inviting
Curb appeal is literally the attractiveness of your property. Upgrade your exterior light. Switch out your house numbers. Add a hanging flower basket. Utilize planters. Embrace symmetry. Add a nice welcome mat. Make it your own.
I’m guilty of neglecting our front porch but we have made some changes. I’d love to replace the current mat with a few layered rugs. Then add some planters to the stairs since I took the ones we had there and used them in my container garden. I’ll share what I would add the this space when the budget allows!
3. Decorate your Front Door
Whether you use paint or simply hang a wreath. Using your door as a part of the design is a great way to boost your curb appeal.
I painted our door a rust red and it is a simple pop of color with the classic white home with black shudders.
IF I were to add a few things to boost my curb appeal it definitely would include a new rug and a few planters. I would also clean up our walk way. I hope This post gave you a few ideas on where to start with your home!
